WEBROOT & CARBONITE
Madwell
With Madwell, I led the creative on Webroot and Carbonite, two leading cybersecurity brands under OpenText.

ORIGINAL ANIMATED EVERGREEN SPOTS
I’ve concepted, wrote and directed VO for a number of animated spots across Webroot and Carbonite.
The challenge of these brands is bringing personality and attitude to a tall order of very technical benefits. With the animations, we were able to incorporate some dynamism and humor into an otherwise dry market.
I’ve included four here, but follow the playlist link to view all cutdowns.
COMPOSITE PHOTO SHOOT
For the refreshed OpenText brand, we proposed doing one photo shoot to last them a year in assets. The idea was to create a composite shoot, where we’d take a variety of photos on blank backgrounds to then overlay against any backdrop we’d like, across any scenario that may arise.
After a month of brainstorming the most applicable scenarios, we cast the shoot and conducted it at Pier 59 Studios.
The result was a successful bank of countless photos for assets. In this slideshow, you can see the full progression — from original composite photos, to photos with backdrop placed, to final asset.

NEW PRODUCT CAMPAIGN CONCEPT
Webroot was releasing their new “Total Protection” product, a package that was the most secure offering yet. To launch it, they wanted a big bold campaign.
While this never saw the light (Madwell imploded), the creative concept here is one I’m particularly fond of.
BANNER ASSETS
Webroot and Carbonite demand a lot of attention to banner ads. We produced a high volume of these assets, with a complex copy matrix across the board.
Here’s a smattering of banners from our holiday run, with lines playing on the campaign’s seasonality.
